Stephen worked in consultation with the Balarinji group and the Army Museum of North Queensland to produce Wars. These granite pillars reflect the rugged headland of Kissing Point. The images, dates and fragments of text reference the role of Townsville, the Kennedy Regiment and 31st battalions in theatres of war around the world. The text transcribes a live ABC news broadcast during the bombing of Townsville in 1942. Carved designs represent the Bell Huey gunship helicopter, the crossed boomerangs of the Kennedy Regiment, the Martini-Henri rifle and a historically significant battalion cornet from 1915.
